separate spiritual part of religion from practical side.

If a religion was great but had 1 quirk which was (insert something against ceasars law) would it be OK to do?
So many of these practices - emotional abuse etc are not part of a religion. Is that all a husband needs to say when the cops show up - Its part of my religion?

I remember when I first started to tell these things to my brother who was totally unaware. He couldn't stop saying "You're kidding right!" "No way" "People don't actually believe this" "No way, you're kidding.....

I have been to two meetings with a therapist (your regular doctor can recommend one). During the first session & for a few hours after I thought it had been a waste of time. Then all kinds of things started coming to mind, empowering thoughts, some kind of hope started to emerge. The therapist didn't really have a clue about the WT things but she asked all the right questions (& I hardly noticed that she talked at all) concerning emotions, anger, guilt, all of it. Gave me a whole new perspective. It lasted long enough to get a grip on a few things but I went back for a 2nd and brought back a bit more.
Don't be shy, try & make an appt. If you call your doctor they can set it all up.

Whats the strangest watchtower/awake article ever

whats the strangest watchtower/awake or other publication article you,ve ever seen?.

i know theres some very strange old articles , but a few years ago there was one in the awake if i remmember right which had a picture of two brothers holding hands on the ministrty.. one was african the other white.. apparently it was common for men to hold hands in this country and was perectly normal for hetrosexual men to do.. a brother who was a missionary recounted how he was shocked when out with a local brother for the first time on the ministry and the brother took his hand in his.. a lot of people though the article was very odd and didn't like it.

i was just wondering i was in the organization 38 years and i feel cheated out of all those years i was in.

or how about when your disfellowshiped and your family alientates you from their lives.

What about children suing because their parents were taken advantage of and seduced into willing their inheritance to a printing company that also happens to be a legal corporation so that they could get to a heavenlike place and help others get there too?

"witnesses do accept blood and kidney transplant my friends father had a kidney transplant and was not looked down upon for it infact that is the only reason he is alive but he did not accept blood during the surgery and the witnesses make their own choice to sign the blood cards it is not required"

Trisha I am so happy your friend's father needed this surgery AFTER transplants were deemed acceptable and not before.
